Youth for Future Cooperation – on the way to Interreg GO!

As a result of the Consultation on Future Interreg organized by the European Commission’s DG Regio in November 2024, the “Youth Declaration on the Future of Territorial Cooperation” has been published, with concrete recommendations from young people aimed at integrating and empowering border regions, breaking down barriers to promote cooperation, involving different stakeholders, and integrating the inclusion of young people into policy objectives.

The 100 young people consulted among IVY volunteers, Cross-Border Ambassadors and Youth Councils, all representatives of the “Youth for future cooperation” network, stated the fundation for Interreg post-27, where a meaningful inter-generational dialogue can be as base of Cohesion Policy.

Seven are the recommendations identified through a constructive dialogue, in order to highlight young people’s perspective on those aspects of Territorial Cooperation that should be changed, improved or preserved, thinking about the future of Interreg.

The Declaration, along with all harvesting reports that several Interreg programmes have prepared after consulting citizens and stakeholders on the future of Interreg, will be presented during the Interreg GO! event in the cross-border twin cities of Gorizia (Italy) and Nova Gorica (Slovenia).

IVY will also be there on 27-28 March; for those of you joining the event, don’t forget to visit us in the IVY stand!
