IVY Reporter for the Interreg Programme “Hungary-Croatia”

Support communication about cooperation between Hungary and Croatia.

The Joint Secretariat of the Interreg VI-A Programme Hungary-Croatia is looking for an IVY volunteer!

The volunteer will support the Interreg Programme “Hungary-Croatia”.

The Interreg VI-A Programme is the fourth iteration of Interreg programmes on the common border of Hungary and Croatia. Starting from the Interreg III era until the currently closing 2014-2020 programming period, the project partners of the two countries have engaged in ever deeper and broader cooperation. For the 2021-2027 financial perspective the planners of the new Interreg programme have built on the foundations of the predecessor programmes, but have embraced slightly new thematic fields as well (e.g. energy efficiency and climate change mitigation actions, cross-border transport connection development etc). The programme is in a starting-up phase.

The volunteer will be carrying out communication, dissemination and event activities jointly with JS staff, under their supervision and supporting their work. The activities are:

• promote existing projects and share updates on the funding possibilities of the Interreg programme;
• compile success stories, capture photos, or record video testimonials, prepare statistical summaries;
• assist in designing programme’s promotional materials: booklets, newsletters, templates, etc.
• draft newsletters, organise webinars;
• with JS supervision create draft content for the programme’s communication platforms;
• gather feedback from project partners, prepare / send/ analyse surveys, conduct interviews;
• assess project partners and stakeholders satisfaction, identify challenges, collect suggestions;
• raise awareness about the projects’ goals, impact, and importance;
• participate in preparing and implementing awareness-raising campaigns or events;
• assist in organising Interreg Cooperation Day / information day events;
• help project partners during the preparation for various contests initiated by Interact or the EC.

IVY Reporter for the Interreg Programme “Hungary-Slovakia”

Support cooperation between Hungary and Slovakia.

The Joint Secretariat Interreg  Hungary-Slovakia is looking for an IVY volunteer!

The volunteer will support the Interreg Programme “Hungary-Slovakia” which aims to relieve administrative and legal barriers at the Hungarian-Slovak border, to build up mutual trust between the citizens of the area and to make the border region environmentally friendly.

The volunteer will be carrying outthe following activities and tasks:

• Promoting projects: They will help spread the word and keep stakeholders engaged by crafting compelling stories, gathering captivating photos, and capturing video testimonials showcasing approximately 45 projects funded through the Hungary-Slovakia Interreg Programme;
• Organizing European Cooperation Day: Their assistance would be invaluable in supporting coordination of events at the program level, ensuring the seamless execution of activities aimed at celebrating European cooperation and fostering cross-border partnerships.

Volunteer will work in close collaboration with the staff members but she/he is responsible for compelling project stories in three language mutation.

Collaboration and teamwork are central to our approach, and IVY volunteers will be integrated into the team seamlessly. They will have the opportunity to contribute their insights, ideas, and skills.

IVY Reporter for the Interreg Programme Netherlands-Flanders (Vlaaned)

Promote cooperation across the Belgian and Dutch borders!

The Joint Secretariat Interreg Vlaanderen-Nederland is looking for three volunteers and the Managing Authority is looking for one volunteer! (4 positions)

The Interreg programme Vlaanderen-Nederland focuses on strengthening the five Flemish provinces in Belgium and the three southern provinces of The Netherlands. Four are the main priorities for this border area:

• innovation and research infrastructure,
• training and the functioning of the labour market,
• adaptation to climate change, biodiversity and air pollution prevention, sustainable
  leisure activities and tourism,
• solving administrative-legal bottlenecks at the border.

The volunteers will support the programme in reaching these priorities through communication activities, carrying out mainly two strands of tasks:

• Interreg VI: promote & report >>> communication about projects

From this year onwards, we are expanding our content planning/calendar and pouring it into sections such as ‘project highlighted’ (interview), ‘behind the scenes’, ‘did you know’ (infographic), testimonials (project partner, residents or other target groups that experience the impact of the project), interactive polls, information about guides and/or regulations, etc. With this the volunteer(s) can make a substantial contribution to bring projects to the attention through our website and social media channels by fully playing out the role as an Interreg reporter through articles, interviews, videos, photo reports, blogs…

Concrete tasks:
– coming up with substantive input for the calendar (by, among other things, questioning the project advisors) and checking with the communications advisor
– contacting, informing and making agreements with involved project partners for conducting interviews, articles, making videos, etc.
– go on site and ensure that the interview can be conducted and that photos are taken (everything that is needed to achieve a nice result)
– writing and/or editing and making the item suitable for website and social media
– active contribution to the newsletter (and possible full ‘take over’ is negotiable!)
– you will also participate in the daily operation of the secretariat and attend our weekly meetings

• Interreg VI: analyse & report >>> public consultation

The European Commission’s Directorate General for Regional and Urban Policy (DG REGIO) launched a consultation process to gather opinions/comments/suggestions as to what shape Interreg should take after 2027. DG REGIO encourages Interreg programmes to run a wider stakeholders’ consultation – e.g. local communities, (potential) beneficiaries, citizens – as they best know their constituency and already have some experience in this respect (e.g. consultations to prepare the 2014-2020 Interreg).
As an Interreg programme, we also foresee a consultation in 2024. The volunteer(s) can play an important role in this when it comes to questioning citizens in our border region. We are currently brainstorming about an efficient approach, but if we find candidates quickly, we are happy to involve them in the entire thought process. In addition, we see the volunteer(s) as best suited to conduct research, collect and analyse data and work with us on the final harvesting report.

Concrete tasks:
– active contribution to shaping the survey among citizens (action plan, communicative framework, practical elaboration, etc.)
– you will receive a short training from one of our colleagues so that you can anticipate certain situations during the surveys
– go out and question citizens at strategic places (together with another volunteer or colleague)
– during the consultations: occasionally take some photos and film (we provide an enthusiastic ‘promo video’ about the consultation of citizens during the process)
– analysing the collected information and providing feedback to the colleagues involved

The volunteer will support the Interreg project “HERCULES – Health Empowerment through Regional Collaboration by fostering innovation from the demand-side”, under the Programme “Interreg Europe”.

The objective of the Interreg project “HERCULES” is to improve innovation in healthcare regional policies in the framework of person-centred care and support personalized medicine, fostering healthcare innovation from the demand-side.

The volunteer will be carrying out the following tasks and activities:

• Collaboration in the management of social networks and creation of publications for them (LinkedIn, Facebook, X);
• Participation in the organization of workshops and events, including a cross-border working group workshop and the celebration of cross-border investigation research awards;
• Collaboration in the design of promotional posters for the different project events;
• Helping in the designing of posters, publications, posts, notices…;
• Assistance to the planning and execution of work meetings, reunions, workshops and any other of the events of the project;
• Helpingin the writing of reports, summaries, briefings, press releases…;

• Collaborating in the management of dissemination activities and events, through different means, including social networks;
• Compiling information, preparing and filing documentation, taking notes, helping with the scheduling and logistics…

The Joint Secreteriat of Interreg Italy-Austria is looking for two IVY volunteer!

The volunteers will support the Interreg Programme “Italy – Austria” which aims to support research and innovation, including on green transition issues such as energy efficiency, sustainable and circular sustainable and circular production processes and to  protect the environment and biodiversity combined with resilience to climate change;.

The volunteers will be carrying out the following activities and tasks:

– raising awareness about the programme Interreg Italy-Austria through communication activities about the programme itself or its activities, and through showcasing concrete achievements of that programme and, by extension, of the projects financed by that programme;

– supporting the programme Interreg Italy-Austria in communication activities to inform about the opportunities offered by the programme through different modes (for example: creating visuals, sharing the information online, participating to events etc…);

-supporting the organization of events and lessons to be held in the universities and in some high schools located in FVG Region for showing the impacts and the opportunities given by Interreg programmes and projects, especially at cross-boder level;

• – contributing in providing support for updating the website EUROPA FVG (

 in the section dedicated to the programme Interreg Italy-Austria), for example releasing news and information about Interreg Italy-Austria Programme’s activities and events.

IVY Project Partner for the Interreg project “Germ of Life”

Support the development of a drought risk management preventive joint approach.

Atos France is looking for an IVY volunteer!

The volunteer will support the Interreg project “Germ of Life”, under the Interreg Programme “Euro-MED”.

The objective of the Interreg project “Germ of Life” is to develop, test and uptake a “drought risk management preventive approach”, based on a set of jointly developed and adapted solutions. It benefits the region through enhanced drought preparedness and response, more effective water resource management and reduced agricultural losses and environmental impacts.

The volunteer will be carrying out implementation activities:

• spearhead, under supervision, the collection and preparation of diverse datasets sourced from satellites, sensors, and meteorological instruments;
• ensure that the collected dataset is cleaned and primed for analysis, setting the foundation for meaningful insights and informed decision-making;
• collaborate closely with data scientists, acting as a bridge between data collection and analysis phases;
• leverage their own knowledge in machine learning and geospatial information systems (GIS) technology to augment project capabilities.

IVY Project Partner for the Interreg project “StrategyMedFor”

Support Sustainable Management of Mediterranean Forests.

International Association for Mediterranean Forests is looking for an IVY volunteer!

The volunteer will support the Interreg project “StrategyMedFor – Strategy for the Sustainable Development of Mediterranean Forests”, under the Interreg Programme “Interreg Euro – MED”.

The objective of the Interreg project “StrategyMedFor” is to develop a 10-year Strategy for the Sustainable Management of Mediterranean Forests that will integrate new technologies & Mediterranean-wide data to identify which forests to protect, restore or manage.

The volunteer will be carrying out the following tasks and activities:

• support in social media’s management;
• support in website’s optimisation and management;
• support in the organisation of project events;
• support in the development of engagement methodologies for partners and stakeholders; development of strategies for the involvement of young people in the communication of the project;
• assist, if needed, in the data entry of the Carbon Footprint Calculation using the online tool of the Programme.

The volunteer will support the Interreg project “DARKERSKY4CE”, under the Interreg Programme “Central Europe”.

The objective of the Interreg project “DARKERSKY4CE” is to reduce light pollution in central Europe by raising awareness and promoting dark skies as a valuable asset for biodiversity and sustainable development.

The volunteer will be carrying out communication and implementation activities:

• Support project communication activities;
• Support and facilitate the transnational dimension of the project target beneficiaries (being in close contact with the project target beneficiaries on the topic of project deliverables mentioned below to facilitate transnational cooperation);
• Contribute to information research and data gathering related to the topic of light pollution in Central Europe;
• Contribute to the development of the Dynamic Monitoring Tool (a tool to assess the evolution and the perception of the actions taken);
• Contribute to the preparation and administration of the surveys and communicate the results;
• Contribute to the deployment of the Photometer Network (a network of devices that monitor light pollution in non-urban areas).

At the same time, it addresses climate change issues, sustainable mobility and youth employment and education in the cross-border area. Actions in these priority areas will be complemented by efforts to foster closer co-operation of administrations contributing to create an integrated and sustainable development of the border region. To achieve these strategic objectives, the programme aims at increasing the number of joint innovation projects, developing innovative models for sustainable public buildings, improving territorial planning and the prevention and resilience towards environmental risks, increasing sustainable tourism in the area, improving habitat management, increasing the number of strategic actions towards a sustainable mobility, promoting the attractiveness of mountain and rural areas for families and young people increasing the education and training offer of the cross border area.

The volunteer will be carrying out the following activities and tasks:

• 1) Support the Managing Authority’s communication actions in support of strategic importance operations: the volunteer will work on video capsules involving interviews with the PITER+ coordinators.

The objective of the Interreg project “CoFarm4Cities” is to create a sustainable model for urban fringe farming in Central Europe as an effective tool to prevent urban sprawl and to transition to a more sustainable food system and society.

The volunteer will be carrying out the following tasks and activities:

• help the urban gardeners, especially the most vulnerable ones (people with disability and elderly people), with the daily maintenance;
• help plan social events and initiatives for community gatherings, that will help the community of gardeners to connect with each other but also to connect with the larger community of Falchera;
• assist our team of educators and beekeepers in preparing the green and outdoor education workshops for the community of gardeners and for the families/schools of Falchera and surroundings;
• help with the daily maintenance of our biodiversity hub (pollinators oasis, aquaponic greenhouse, agroforestry system, permaculture gardens).

Support cooperation in the Alpine region.

The Joint Secretariat Interreg Alpine Space is looking for an IVY volunteer!

The volunteer will support the Programme “2021 – 2027 Interreg VI-B Alpine Space”, that co-finances and supports cooperation projects across the borders of seven Alpine countries, tackling common challenges and improving the quality of life of the 80 million inhabitants of the Alpine region.

The volunteer will be carrying out the following tasks and activities:

Organisation, participation and post processing of meetings

•  Internal meetings, such as programme committee and Managing Authority (MA), Joint Secretariat (JS) and Alpine Space Contact Points (ACP) meetings;
• Training and networking events, such as project communication trainings as well as other events (planning, roll-out and post-processing);
• Support of major programme events, such as the 25 Years of the Alpine Space Programme;
• Further programme meetings and/or conferences of co-financed projects, as required.

Support to the implementation of the programme 2021-2027

• Assistance in the development of activities aimed at strengthening relations among projects, programme EUSALP and Alpine convention;
• Assistance for the development of the cooperation with EUSALP Youth Council, further development of the link with Interreg Volunteer Youth (IVY) network;
• Other tasks (ie. analysis of results of communications activities, expansion of the programme´s communication output in specific areas)

Support for the promotion of the programme and its projects

•  Drafting articles and the newsletter, updating the project & output library and the knowledge library;
• Check and sort project outputs, programme publications and literature, including archived materials;
• Website maintenance (WordPress);
• Social media: drafting post, publication;
• Photo documentation during events.

Support for the development of communication tools and valorisation of the archives

• Videos, ad-hoc trainings, or any other formats for projects;
• Organise the archive and record the different elements.

The objective of the Interreg project “InnoCom” is to help SMEs to adapt to the challenges of the modern digital era, to implement innovative tools and strategies for effective communication with partners, clients and investors, creating transnational business links among SMEs in the participating countries.

The volunteer will be carrying out the following tasks and activities:

• Communication and information dissemination support: Creating and editing content for social networks, developing visual materials, maintaining newsletters for target audiences;
• Event management: Preparing and holding seminars, trainings, meetings for SME representatives;
