The IVY Policy is currently undergoing an important update aimed at ensuring a more balanced and proportionate deployment of volunteers across countries and host organisations within the project timeframe. This process reflects a continued commitment to fairness and transparency.
As part of this transition, some new elements and limitations have applied since March 2026 regarding the capacity of Interreg projects and programmes to host IVY Volunteers. These adjustments are designed to better align opportunities with available resources and to support a more equitable distribution of placements.
A key change, among others, concerns the selection process. It is no longer possible for host organisations to directly propose candidates. All applications must now be submitted through the IVY website, ensuring equal treatment and access for all interested candidates. Exceptions may be considered in duly justified cases.
While the Policy will continue to be refined in the coming weeks, host organisations interested in welcoming IVY Volunteers are warmly encouraged to get in touch with the IVY team at ivy@aebr.eu to learn more about the current framework and available opportunities.
Further updates will be shared soon.
