IVY enters a new chapter: the initiative will continue until 2027!

We are excited to announce that the Interreg Volunteer Youth (IVY) initiative is officially continuing beyond its initially planned end date of 30 June 2025. A new phase of IVY has started on 1 July 2025 and will run until the end of December 2027, allowing many more young people to get involved in European Territorial Cooperation and supporting Interreg programmes and projects across Europe.

While the mission of IVY remains unchanged  empowering young people to engage in cooperation across borders  – this new phase will introduce exciting novelties to further strengthen the impact of the initiative.

Among the upcoming changes:

  • IVY Alumni will have the opportunity to organise Citizens’ Engagement Activities (CEAs), and keep contributing to promoting Cohesion Policy;

  • New financial support rates will be introduced;

  • And more to be revealed soon!

We will share full details about these updates on the IVY website, especially in the IVY Policy section. Keep an eye out in the coming weeks to discover everything that’s new!

In addition, we will soon re-open the possibility to new volunteering missions and accept new applications from host organisations eager to welcome motivated volunteers.

The Association of European Border Regions (AEBR) is proud and eager to continue managing the initiative on behalf of the European Commission’s DG REGIO, ensuring its smooth implementation and continued success.

We warmly thank all mentors, volunteers, alumni, and stakeholders who have supported the initiative throughout the years. Your dedication and enthusiasm have been key to making IVY a vibrant and impactful community.

Stay tuned and get ready to be part of the next chapter of IVY!
