The meaning of being INTREPIDA

Hello everyone! My name is Iolanda, I´m from Portugal and fortunately, I had the opportunity to get to know the program IVY that stands for a strong cohesion alliance between UE members. Currently, as an IVY volunteer, I´m living in the beautiful city of Seville, Spain, working at Tres culturas of the Mediterranean Foundation. An amazing and breathtaking place in which I work for the program INTREPIDA plus, a project which stands for the internationalization of Businesswomen from Spain and Portugal towards insertion, development and alliances, an initiative framed in INTERREG Spain-Portugal with the aim to promote the business competitiveness of companies or brands managed by women in the cross-border territory of Andalusia, Algarve, and Alentejo.

My first month in the project was full of excitement and eagerness to learn as much as I could. I was able to meet my team at Tres culturas of the Mediterranean Foundation as well as my host, who was very easygoing and helpful in the process of me getting acquainted with the city and with my job at the foundation. With her, I learned about our guía de empresárias which is a virtual platform where you can discover projects managed by women both in Spain and Portugal, this way helping them gain more visibility. Besides that, INTREPIDA plus every month organizes meetings with some of the projects included in our guía, where the general public can participate freely. I find it to be a unique and creative way to let the public know about these businesses and most importantly, creating the possibility for these companies to develop a relationship with potential future clients.

As part of the project this past 8th of March, we celebrated International Women's Day by going to Seville markets distributing INTREPIDA merchandizing, and let the civilians know about our work and the businesses of the women that evidently give a meaningful reason for the existence of INTREPIDA plus project.

Overall, with the purpose of a cohesion alliance between Spain and Portugal, different activities are carried out weekly benefitting businesses in both countries. And I, as an INTREPIDA member, I´m able to contribute for that purpose, the purpose of being INTREPIDA.
