Greetings from home!
My name is Carmen and I´m from Extremadura, Spain. I am currently an Interreg Volunteer Youth (IVY) volunteer in the city of Seville, Andalusia, Spain at Fundación Tres Culturas del Mediterráneo (Three Cultures of the Mediterranean Foundation).
The foundation promotes dialogue, peace and coexistence among peoples of the Mediterranean. This is the guiding principle that guides the activities of this Foundation.
I support the INTREPIDA project (Internationalisation of Female Entrepreneurs from Spain and Portugal toward Insertion, Development and Alliances) is an initiative framed in INTERREG Spain-Portugal (POCTEP 2014-2020) and financed with ERDF funds from the European Union. Its aim is to foster business competitiveness of SMEs run by women in the cross-border region of Andalusia, Algarve and Alentejo, promoting their internationalisation by means of new models for business cooperation and development.
Before being IVY, I had studied and worked in Portugal. I have always been in love with Portuguese and Andalusia culture. I´m very pleased to be a part of the IVY initiative and INTREPIDA project!
In my first month as an IVY I was travelling, both for my project and during my free time. I was a participant in the organization of the IV INTREPIDA forum, held in Evora, Alentejo, Portugal. They were days of work to finally enjoy synergies between women from Spain and Portugal. In my free time I was able to discover the wonderful Seville and travel to Faro, Algarve, Portugal.
But when two months had not yet passed... The pandemic came and we all had to be home.
These months I have learned the concept of office home, something that seemed very distant to me. I must admit that I have had to adapt to the new situation and with so much uncertainty it has not been easy.
Now we are adapting the activities to the new normality, learning to use new tools to work online and, above all, being positive. We will get out of this situation!
Now more than ever join the European Solidarity Corps and become an IVY volunteer too!
