My name is Lydia and I am from Greece, more specifically from a small town called Drama. Before my application for the IVY program, I was interested in participating in something interesting and creative! So, when I heard about the potential that the IVY program offers I applied right away!
For almost three months now I have been a volunteer with Drama Chamber of Commerce and Industry being occupied with the Interreg program between Greece and Bulgaria, and more specifically the so-called ‘’Reinforce Social Entrepreneurial Spirit through setting up innovative support structures in the cross-border territory’’.
Currently, I am engaged in the preparation activities regarding the organization of a round table in Drama. This event is taking place in the beginning of November and has the goal of gathering local entrepreneurs while offering them the possibility to exchange views on the social and economic benefits of an expanded commercial zone with Bulgaria. It is part of the Working Package 3 and falls under the category ‘Needs analysis and Exchange of Experience’.
Here is a picture of me in the office at the Drama Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

It’s an amazing experience because I have the chance to get in touch with new people, new ideas, the way the project goes, with the cross-border policy, to get to know new entrepreneurs from both sides of the borders as I would not be able to experience something like this, otherwise. Besides the chance to participate in this program, which I consider to be a life-time experience so far, I have been really happy to have cooperated with my colleagues and even create everlasting friendships. Unfortunately my trip as an IVY volunteer is about to end in a few weeks but I am glad I had the opportunity to be part of the IVY initiative.
